I just finished rebuilding my 95 Talon's motor over the winter. I went out to start it for the first time and have had a lot of difficulty. I have installed 272/272 cams, 1200 fuel injectors, .02 over pistons, a 100mm stroked crankshaft and a Forced Performance 68 HTA Turbo. I was unable to start the car using stock settings on the ECU. After making the required adjustments for the fuel levels using DSMlink I was able to get the car to start. It could not idle, and would stall out after 30 seconds. While the car was running it was backfiring a lot and the RPM jumped around. I raised up the idle level and it began to run for a little longer, but still stalled. Has anyone else had this problem? My best guess is I have to make an adjustment using DSMlink to compensate for the larger cams.
