well when i just let the car idle it dies out but when i drive it drives good my gas mileage is very bad i thought it was either my knock sensor or o2 sensor cause they both were bad i knew that for sure they always set off my CEL so i replaced the o2 sensor and knock sensor and now the CEL does not go on but it still dies out any help would be great

it might be these few things wrong with your laser

Tired of dealing with idle surge? It you have exhausted all other options, the problem may be an old worn out ISC motor.

or

The Base Idle Set Screw (BISS) is located on top of the throttle body, covered by a soft seal. But it's not just any screw. The BISS controls a throttle body air bypass that allows the adjustment of the idle. If your car is not idling right, it may be because the BISS has fallen out completely. The average Mitsubishi dealer seems to have no idea what this part is; we've heard of parts counter people claiming you have to buy a whole new throttle body to get the BISS.

We've got just the special screw, plus the important O-ring that holds it in place. Yours for hundreds less than a whole new throttle body!

or you might need a INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET.
The factory gasket on the earlier 1G DSMs was a fiber gasket and over time can get brittle and a section of it can blow out. This will cause the car to stall or idle at 2000+ rpm and generally poor driveability. This is the revised gasket which is metal and won't suffer from the above issues. Don't replace this gasket with an aftermarket paper one either unless you feel like going back in and changing it when it eventually blows out.

Reuseable and will last just about forever.

or with my problem on my 94' laser NT was the throttle body gasket. hope this works or clean out your throttle body.

ok yeah its about that time for a real good tune up and {crazy 1gb} it might be my manifold gasket cause sometimes when i hold the pedal to keep it idleing it sometimes like backfire form it and it smells like gas ok well im gonna give it a real good inspection of my gaskets and the throttle body

well when i bought the car it needed new o rings on the injectors so i put all new seals and o rings but i think i over tightened my fuel rail cause on the seal that goes between the fuel rail and the injector it looks like its crushed but it could be the seals cause it really only waste gas when i get on it but if i drive regular it doesnt waste as fast but it uses up soo much when i get on it really bad
