i would like to stat off with i dont know much about cars like motor wise. i was driving about 60ish when this happened, maybe a little hot-rodding before but, i am driving and just loose all power. and like 4 lights came on, didnt pay attention to what they were tho. i tried to start it and it just kept making a funny noise. so i got towe home by a friend with a truck and a tow strap. any ideas?

I would be checking the timing to see if it jumped ,also check to see if your belt is still tight,if regular matinance hasn,t been done.

i cant really describe the noise. like, it was the same continuos noise. my friend just said it was like a "grinding" sound, idk. i'd hav to try and start it.

The first part of your post screams timing belt. Do not try to turn it over again, remove the timing belt cover and check that the belt is ok or missing. If it did indeed snap and you were at low RPMs, you may be lucky, but the more you try to turn it over, the more you're forcing your pistons into your valves. I really hope for you that the belt did not break. How long has it been since it has had a timing belt and balance shaft belt change (to include: tensioners and water pump also every time you change it)? Does it gets it's rutine maintenance done? Oil and fluids, Filters, belts? Does a trustworthy shop do the work?

How long have you owned the car, and how many miles are currently on it? Are there records from previous owner as to the service plan?
