I just bought a dsm :thumb: and I drove it home with no problem. I disconnected the battery overnight and went to start it up the next morning, and it wouldn't crank so I bought a new battery. I installed the battery and went to start it up and it's cranking but won't fire. I know the car has a compustar alarm with built in turbo timer, I asked the guy who I bought it from whether or not it had a ignition kill and he said no. So I got it towed to my mechanic and he said it's not getting fuel and he thought it might have something to do with me disconnecting the battery with the alarm. Not really sure where to turn, anyone have any experience with aftermarket alarms in particular CompuStar? Thanks. :dsm:

i concur rip out the alarm if it wasnt professionaly installed... then check to ssee if getting spark if so and no start then check for fuel if still no start check air flow....

long story short u need three things for combustion fuel, air ,spark without one dead in the water... the alarm could kill fuel and spark remove it and then try again...

The car is getting spark I tested that before bringing it to the mechanic. I'll check the injector harnesses and take out the alarm if I HAVE to.

Also I disconnected the battery because the kid I bought it from had the battery located in the wheel well of the hatch. And he had a puddle of water from the water resovoir hose popping off so I had to clean it up.

sounds like the guy who had the car before u wasnt the brightest crayon in the box there could a host of small problems in there who knows what is going on in there?

I know.. wish I had found that out before I bought the car. Do CompuStar alarms come standard with some kind of ignition kill or fuel cut-off the I might have triggered from playing with the alarm remote (trying to change turbo timer settings)? Does anyone know about these alarms? Do they need to be "reset" when you disconnect the battery? Also, other aftermarket alarms might be similar so has anyone had any experience with say Viper or any other brands doing this?
