I did a search, but couldn't seem to find the same problem I am having. My car has been sitting for about 5-6 months, so yesterday I go to start it as I am starting to get it ready for autocrossing. I had to jump start it, but it fired off right away & idled great (I was impressed). I let it idle for a little bit, maybe 10 min, then went to drive it. Well, as soon as I started to feed any throttle to it, & just as the boost would start to build past 0 it would start coughing & sputtering. If I lifted, it would settle to a normal idle, but anytime I gave it more than say 20% throttle it would cut out (sounded like a 2 step set at like 2K RPM). I didn't have time to investigate things until today, so I put it back in the garage. This morning I go out to try & start it, it cranks & cranks, sputtered a couple times, but won't fire up. I try again, but this time it doesn't even sputter, it won't fire at all. But, as soon as I released the key & the engine quit turning, I get the loudest backfire I've ever heard out the exhaust! Any ideas what could cause this? Literally it ran yesterday, now this. I didn't even really drive it, the engine hasn't been above 2K RPM, I am at a loss. Before it was parked last year, this car ran awesome & for the most part always has through a few different set-ups. I checked the T-belt, all looks good. It definitely seems like the cylinders are filling with fuel, but like I'm not getting any spark while the starter is cranking. ECU?? CAS?? Coil pack?? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
