i had a elctric Fire yesterday battry grounded in to my strut bar, and now my car sucks!
okay the head lights are really really dim now and the car still runs fine. but when i turn the head lights on it kills the motor what could that be?
AND the big problem is when this happend i poped the hood and there was smoke coming out of i beileve the Cruz Control Box Passenger side Two cables going in black box with some pullys in side it ???
and now my gas pedel is stuck rock hard can't push it in at all SO!! what did i screw up ??
help!

sounds like you need a grounding kit...didnt look at your mods though...my friend got one...noticed a difference in his sound system and a little bit of performance. As for your gas pedal...i think that it could be something with the return spring/bracket or something on the throttle body, dont know too much about what would cause a fire in the cruise control...check it out let me know :thumb:

i sort of had the same problem you need to replace at least one of the cables as it melted the rubber coating when it shorted out...it is was the one from the black box to the throttle body... next i would check your grounds and altenator as i seem to continue to fry mine and im still lookin for that short that is causing it

Are you KIDDING ME? a grounding kit??

Anywho, you need to figure out what part of your wiring harness you melted/burned, replace those, then you need to cover your positive and negative terminals with some sort of non-conductive material. you may have FUBAR'd your alternator too.

open up the box and see if you can tell anything melted to the pulleys. i don't have any idea what else could have caused the gas pedal problem.

I have cought my car on fire too... hehe

Well about the pedal being rock hard you could always take out the cruz control box. My car is stripped of all those goodies.

Check all of your fuses, carefully. I missed one before that I kept overlooking. The tops of them looked fine but they the metal was fused together. I didn't find it till I decided to remove and reset all of the them.

Just my 2 cents.

If you don't have good grounds the throttle cable could of acted as the ground and when it heated up it melted the cable sheething <sp?> to the cable itself which is what caused it to lock up.The cable can't slide inside the sheething anymore..
I would add a good ground from the battery to the engine and firewall, then one from the engine to the firewall.

Unplug the Cruise Control box and see if the lights brighten back up,i bet it's shorted out..
