Well, I noticed today after i heated the clutch up ONCE on a slippy take off that i could smell it but afterwards even when cool i'm getting 3-5psi less boost in 3rd gear than in 1st and 2nd (i really wanted to order a SB clutch from Tim Z but he's not open again untill the 3rd of january and i'm hoping to have one on the way by then)
Anyway.. gears 1-2 pull great 27-30psi and more (i've set up the gate and BC many many ways testing) and at best only get 15psi out of third, but the thing is when i stop after a third gear pull i DON"T smell clutch, i know there's only one TINY little bost leak from my nitrous nozzle and another from a TB shaft seal but on my system that's never lost me this kinda PSI cause i've made 30+ with those same two leaks.
I just can't put my finger on this but either way i KNOW i need a clutch bad after seeing it on my last trans pull to tighten the flywheel.
So.. cold it be slipping enough to cost me boost pressure but not enough to smell? I mean there's no obvious jump in RPM's like a real slip would demonstrate, but i can't figure out why i can't make more than 25psi in 3rd even when i hook boost to the TOP WG port only which should only hold it shut making the boost skyrocket to whatever it takes to blow the engine
Also, TIM if you read this and can ship me a clutch earlier PM or call i sent you my number via pM when you were onlearlier, i'll buy right off the site,
otherwise where can i order the same clutch that has the kevlar/ceramic or feramic whatever it is that holds the 550 torque (with supposedly only a 2200 lb PP) i need something ASAP before i get back to working and can't afford to miss a day cause of bills to pay
also, i LOVED my fidanza aluminum flywheel on my FWD, those using it on AWD how is it?????
