I just got my boost controller on and the boost won't go up at all. So i have a leak. I just need to know how I find out where the leak is. What tests/tools do I need to fix this problem?

Thanks

to build a boost leak tester u can do it urself, do a search and im sure u will find something. do u have a home depot by ur house, if so get to know it, thats where i got all i needed for it.

but if u must know now all it is, is a rubber adapter(hose type deal) Plumbing section at homedepot, that will go off ur turbo, then u buy a cap for it and then a vavle stem, put it all together, hook up some air to it and blow it through ur system to find out where its leaking, but if yours was like mine, i would use a bottle of soapie water! works great i hear, find out where them little leak buggers are.

hope this helps.

Uninstall the mbc until you get a boost gauge. If you already have a boost gauge, tell us more details.

1. What type/brand mbc? How is it hooked up?
2. What boost are you able to run?
3. Describe how the car feel under WOT in relation to psi/rpm

Boost leak test. http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html

1. SBR MBC/ It's ran from the wastegate nipple to the intake manifold, b/c the nipple on the BOV is broken. My new BOV is on its way. I figured since the reason you hook the MBC up to the BOV to just find a source of boost and vac. I could hook it straight to the intake mani. instead. Im going to get a 1g BOV and a 16g and see if that solves the problem. I think it also may be the wastegate accuator being stuck open.
2. 5PSI!!!!!!!!!!!!! If sometimes spikes to 6 or 7psi (After installing my gauge, I now realize why my car is so slow. . . )
3. Very smooth powerband, I hit full boost at about 2700rpm (b/c its only 5 pounds)
What do you guys think. . .

Here are the possibilities that I can think of:

1. A open wastegate. Check and make sure the actuator arm didn't pop off the wastegate lever and apply pressure to the actuator to make sure it doesn't open prematurely.

2. Dying turbo. Confused about how your bov is setup right now, hopefully it's blowing off properly and not causing surge. You need to replace the bov first and make sure it's hooked up correctly and recirculated before you do more test runs. Check the turbo for shaft play and oil.

3. Huge boost leak. You know what to do.

The BOV is opening just fine. We capped off the wategate nipple and it still ran 5 psi. Would it be that the wastegate is just stuck open ?

Could be but doesn't have to be. Is the arm connected? If so, pull out the cotterpin and disconnect the arm. Make sure the flapper opens and shut freely and it's completely closed when the arm is re-attached.

The arm is infact connected. The arm that comes out of the exhaust housing is pointed over to the passenger side of the car all the time. I didnt want to take off the accuator arm b/c it is held on by an E-clip and Im affraid I will not be able to put it back on due to little room. Im thinking a 16g is in the mix to fix this problem. . .

My 16g points down and about 20 degrees to the driverside at the closed position, post a pic if you can, it shouldn't be pointing to the passenger side at all. Did you apply pressure to the nipple? Expect it to extend and open the wastegate at about 10psi on a functioning actuator.
