ok i have had these issues for way too long. i have a 96 gst and it wont start. it started running like dog crap so i pulled it over and it died. i managed to start it and it would only run when i kept the rpms up. got it home and it wouldnt start. ran codes and it said i had a bad iac solenoid. replaced the iac and no start. ran codes again, and it says the MAF is fine, the coolant temp sensor is fine and the MDP sensor is fine. found out that it is overfueling on cylinder 1 and 2 after checking the plugs numerous times after trying to start it. i put a gsx computer in it and it started but ran crazy rich. i went ahead and turned it off, changed the oil and plugs since it needed it and charged the battery since it was dead from sitting. tried to restart it and its acting the same. i think i might have some sortt of bad ground thats screwing up ecus but im not sure. i really dont want to just buy another ecu just to get it to run super rich for just a short period of time and not be able to start again.

Check the required things for an engine to run.
1. Fuel
2. Spark.
3. Air.
4. Compression.
I really dont know what the problem could be, becides the ECU.
And it may be running rich at first cause you flipped the key to 'ON' alot. So It may be flooded from that.

well i have compression, spark, and obviously fuel. i have good timing, so im still at a loss. what i plan on doing is finding out the voltage and resistance values at all of the pins at the harness where it plugs into ecu, look for irregularities, then trace the wires throughout to find if i have something thats causing my ecu to blow. after that i have absolutely no idea where to go. if i cant find a problem i guess i might as well drop some cash on a CAS, CTS, MAF and MDP, then try an ecu and see if it helps. someone i know had a MAF go out and it didnt throw a code so ill just replace the usual bad guys and cross my fingers. also every starter relay i found and tried have been junk so ive been bypassing the relay with a paperclip (I guess Im a redneck at heart, being from missouri LOL) but i doubt that would cause any issues. any more ideas would be greatly appreciated

I have a 96 gst that did the same thing. The back balance shaft started to lock up and caused it to rip 2 teeth off the timing belt.

ok i have new news. i think the ecu is fine, every once in a while i can get it to run for a short period, but a noid light reveals a constant feed of power to injector 1. injector 2 is fine, but #1 dumps like a garden hose. i figured it might be the injector resistor pack, so i pulled it and i got the same # of ohms between the ground wire and all other wires, so i think its fine. what the hell else could it be? i think i might have some kind of short in the harness that i just cant see
