canister diredtly beneath the battery?

what's that canister directly underneath the battery. im pretty sure its some sort of vacuum settup, but i sorta unplugged the 2 vacuum lines that go to it, and i was wondering if anyone knows what that canister is called, and where those 2 hoses came from that should connect to that canister. thanks.

It's still the fuel system vapor recovery, just like in all the other posts about it.
