CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE tell me what kind of turbo this is i just bought it

the guy said it is a t25 t28 ball bearing turbo....i saw t28 ball bearing and i jumped on it and purchased it. Im a noob which is why im asking this....the turbo looks small the flanges look different...someone please help me out and tell me what this is or tell me how i can find out...its says Garrett a/r .80 M-24 on it. any help would be appreciated and please keep the negative comments to yourself. Thanks.

Probably should have done abit of research before you bought as more then likely it won't be worth the hassle to install it. It will require a T3 mani but then you will need a custom jpipe, custom intake & custom O2 housing. There should be a plate on the center section, what numbers are listed there? This should tell us what turbo you ended up with as some in that series won't be much of an upgrade from the stock turbo, other then being BB.

Not sure but that looks like an internal 38mm wastegate flapper

How much did you pay for it?
Hows the shaft play?

side to side shaft play is VERY minimal to none.
 
and from the looks of it but no sure if its jsut the pictuer od not but it the wastegate flapper and turbine wheel looks to be as if he ran that thing with to much boost and not enuff fuel cause them bastards are as white as a damn ghost.
 
It's a plain jane T25, non-ball bearing from an S13 SR20DET.

It's marginally better than the T25 that came stock on the 2g DSM, and is completely worthless from a DSM standpoint.

It has a standard T25 inlet flange and standard T25 outlet.
 
my friend has a fwd sr20 in his sentra and he said that they come stock with a t25 ball bearing, and the flange is t2 or t3, and on that motor its 240hp at 7psi, i took a ride in it and am definately impressed. do it just because not many people have.
 
Just for future reference, Garrett does still make their GT series of turbos that look the same as the one in the posted above pics in both the GT25 & GT28 frame (may be others as well). As for the HP rateing on these turbos, like most other families, there is a large range in HP potential, so you can't guess the power output potential just by looking at the pic as without the specifics, it would be just that, a guess.

To the OP, good move. So many better suited choices for our application out there even if you do want to do abit of custom work.
