can i use this intercooler (punishment racing)

So my fmic came in the mail today and I would have to say it has a big flaw on it. Yes I know its budget and whatnot but does this imperfection have a chance of cracking in the future or is it just an imperfection. I really dont care how it looks I just want it to perform well and not have to worry about it cracking.

That's got to be a mistake I've seen and helped install plenty of pr fmic s and they have always been high quality. Contact pr and send them some pics im sure they will gladly swap that out for you.

Agreed that looks horrible you need to be sending that back to them and tell them that they need to replace it.

Yeah I run one and it DOES NOT have that crack. Call them and I bet they will replace it.

Email was sent and responded to. Im going to have it checked out locally and if its ok then I might use it. Like I said I really dont care about looks just need it to work. Punishment responded said there is a year warranty so if something did go wrong its covered. Thanks for the responses guys.

when i order my fmic from pr. the brakets on the core were on backwards and piping was all wrong. but after a little cutting everything went on ok. i was told it was a bolt on kit. yeah right....

robbo185 I think Mike already responded to your email about this. That is the line where the cast end tank is welded to the sheet metal, this area is normally blended and polished but it looks like yours missed that part of the process.

Did you contact us for help installing your kit? What was "all wrong" with the piping? I've never heard of anyone receiving a core with brackets on backwards but anything is possible.

If anyone else feels they want to take a cheap shot AFTER the vendor has stepped up to explain the issue, offer some stupid low amount of money, or generally flap gums...you may just wish to move on.

My buddys punishment intercooler came in the mail exactly like that...

We just threw it on, no problems as of...

I got my of fmic the same way scratch not so big tho works fine tho
