I have a 1992 mitsubishi eclipse non turbo and my ECU stopped working but I can't find another ECU with the same number (MD166256) can anyone send me the numbers of ECUs that will get my car to work?? I live in a country where there are no DSM parts please need a fast answer............. thanks.

You dont need the exact same number, in fact, just use any non turbo car. Just make sure if your car is a 90, only use the 90 computers, because you will have to rewire a few things. If its a 91-94, use either a 91-94, all of them work in any of those years.

Also, when looking for ECU's for these cars make sure you open the component up and check out the circuit board, these ECU's use ELECTROLYTIC CAPACITORS. They tend to leak when they are too old and short out the board and burn holes. The unit in side near the capacitors should smell like fish when they are bad, and you should see a liquid oozing out from underneath or in some cases it will be on top of the CAPS.

Other than that just make sure that if your DSM is 5 speed, get a 5 speed ECU. Or if it is an automatic, get an auto ECU and the tranny ECU at the same time, if they are both in the parts car.

Enjoy!

I have a 1992 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS 2.0 16 valve non turbo and my ECU stopped working its number was MD166255. I bought from the used parts an Eclipse ECU model number is 169144. my car worked but i have some problems:
1-a slow acceleration under 3.000 rpm on all speeds
2- the check engine light is always on

i put my car on scanner and found that i have the clock sensor not working
what should i do to solve these problems and can anyone find me what is for the ECU i bought?
