Can a lean idle hurt the motor

Hey guys, quick question. I have a GM MAFT, EGT, SAFC, AEM wideband, logger, and 550 on my DD; the idle is lean after the car warms up, but the AFRs are perfect at cruise and WOT. I have no knock and the EGTs are good. I have a small exhaust leak which I think is giving me a lean reading at idle. I will be fixing the leak soon, but still want to drive the car. Will the lean idle hurt anything in the motor?

How lean are we talking here my friend? And is it cycling? Give more details, because a 15.1 at idle is no biggie, and its an easy fix if you have dsmlink. Otherwise maybe you need new sparkers or something.

Depending how lean, but at idle, it's no real biggie, as there is no load on the engine. On my old setup, my car would idle about 16.5-17, no matter what I did, it did not change. Under load, is a whole new ball park though. . .

with ecmlink how do you change the afr at idle? i tried the DA tables but no luck

My wideband reads between 15-18 at idle. The 02 signal will cycle for a few seconds, then goes lean. I fixed some leaks today so I hope this solves the problem.
