I bought a head, ported/polished, and it was already assembled. 0 miles after rebuild, but I'm not sure if the cam caps were reused or not. It had 1g turbo cams on it, which I never used, because I switched to 264/272s before I installed it. When I took the caps off, I noticed that they were not in the order that the mitsu manual specified. I've read this is a big problem if they're run like that. My question is this: Assuming they are used caps, is it possible that they were originally installed out of order, and they broke in to the factory cam journals in the wrong order? Would they even run if they're out of order, or would the camshaft just sieze? When I installed the new cams, I installed them in the factory order, but I'm wondering if I should buy new caps. Any thoughts/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Justin

they were probably just installed in the wrong order after the porting, whoever put them in maybe didnt know there was an order to go by or just messed up i have no idea, but you basically have 2 choices, you could try putting the used ones in order and going like that, or you can order new ones

At least have the cam journals align-honed.
Yes, put them back in the right order and take it to a machine shop and have them do that.
