cams or injectors?

Check out my mods and please tell me what you think I should do next?

bigger injectors (if so what size would be good?)

Or cam gears (if so which ones?)

your a long way from ever needing bigger injectors.

go with cam gears. i have no experience with them but personnally would go with aem

you wont need the bigger injectors until you get to a stage 2 turbo kit
and then only after you have completely rebuilt the motor
and ready to boost double digits

i also was thinking about going with the aem adjustable cams but read on the aem site that because they are adjustable they are not CARB legal if that is a factor for you

You guys are awesome, this tuning shit is hard, and its my first car, I've had it since July but I'm a long way of knowing exactly what to buy when I need it. I do plan on going turbo, and I actually am about to buy a 2nd motor to build up.

Are there any other little mods that I could use that aren't on my mod list. (I'm staying away from the underdrive pulley for my own personal reasons)
Also just throwing in cam gears won't do anything, unless I actually tune with them right?

you got it, it takes alot of dyno/tuning time to see any good gains from camgears.

go with cams and cam gears. fidanza makes excellent cam gears. i recommend crower cams. go with the stage 2 cams.

if you are going into the engine to have new cams installed
you might want to consider a better valve train as well
i had the crane titanium springs and retainers put in and they work great

install everything at once so you dont have to tear back into it

I actually bought my second motor a couple of weeks ago for 80bucks (60 000miles on the block, 10 000 on the tranny)
I plan on building this one on the side while I turbo my current motor (120 000) and It will take me a little bit as I'm still in college and just now have the cash to turbo it up. Its not a waste for me, as I'm going to be keeping this car until I have a wife that tells me to get rid of it, but if she's my kinda girl she wouldn't do that LOL.

i wouldnt go with niether one. if your going with a second engine go with the 4g63t :thumb: . say f with the 420a :notgood: . i would go with an apexi safc controller. tune it through the ecu. when you scrap the engine and go with the 4g63t you can use the safc to tune it in better. save some money for more power in a 4g63 ROFL

wtf, somebody get this guy outta here before I get myself into trouble

Okay can we report people who give bad advice, Geeze!
We should make a warning thread about crap like this, for people who are determined to tell you to swap our 420a's for a 4g63t, be warned!

I would say CAM all the way get a little more power out of hte car and max the inj you have OUT.. with the bigger cams :thumb:

Ok, just shut the Fu#% up.

Cam gears will give you about as much HP as going from 89 octane to 93 octane. Get a set of cams. You'll notice a huge gain from cams. Crane 0012 is a mild cam, but if you want to get hard core NA, get a Crane 0016. My buddy had these, and man did it sound sweet. Porting and Polishing your intake manifold and getting a 60mm TB is a really good mod also.
