i have a 96 gst with rod knock, 7 bolt. i would like to take the bottom end from my 97 gst spyder and put it in the 96 with the 96 stock head to sell the car. i will be getting a 6 bolt for the spyder. i noticed that the 97 cam sensor is opposite side of head than the cam gears. on my 96 the cam sensor is under the cam gears.

what is the difference between 7 bolts in 95/96 and 97-99? and would what im trying to do work or should i look for a short block for a 95/96??? thank you
