cam sensor crank signal wire dead need help please

hi i got a 92 laser and i jus put a new motor in it and so on upon start up no spark so checked the coil its good then cam sensor black good ground red good battery white good cam signal but the other black crank signal is dead my book says it should read 4.8 to 5.2 volts does anyone know what i can do or whare that wire leads

The two other wires for the CAS are the signal wires.

They are both pulled up to 5v by the ECU and the CAS pulls them low (close to ground) to signal.

Disconnect the CAS and check the wires with the ignition on to see if they are about 5v. If not either the harness is damaged or the ECU has a problem. If they are then the CAS may be bad or your checking the wire while the CAS is in the spot where it should be pulling the signal low, turn the CAS and retest.
