Mods are in my list....
Looking to purchase cams probably this week. I will be getting my engine rebuilt within a month and either sticking with stock internals or maybe going with 1g rods and 2g pistons. My car is a DD still and will be for a little longer.

My question is... would I be ok with cams like HKS 272's or would stage one cams like the 264's be more suitable for my mods? Also Im pretty sure I will be getting stronger valve springs too.

* probably not getting HKS, just using those as an example. looking more towards Comp or FP

You will be more then fine with 272's or something equal. The idle sounds like you have a vacume leak but its just something to get used to. You will learn to like it eventually.

fuel milage change would be pretty hard to tell. Im sure the mpg goes way down once cams are installed since you'd want to be on the throttle all the time. Other than that its all in how you drive, tune and other mods pretty much. The more airflow the more fuel basically.
