Cam idenfication help

Hi,

I just purchased cams off a member here they were supposed to be HKS 272/272.
Anyways, I'm 100% the cams he sent are not hks. No where on them is HKS engraved and from a previous thread I read all HKS cams have them there. The only numbers on the end of the cam are 404191347 and a D with a 12 and a small 2 the other cam is 404182102 on the end and a 22 and a small 2 as well as a C.

If anyone has any idea what these are please let me know. I emailed the guy and am giving him a chance to make it right but I'll keep this thread updated.

I'm trying to decide if I should esclate the paypal dispute to a claim now or wait a day or so for him to respond cause I've heard of people closing bank accounts to avoid having to pay and stuff like that.

Anyone have an opinion or know what cams they are? For some reason I think they are stock cams.

I seem to recall a thread on here that said that HKS cams were indeed unmarked, but I'm not positive.

Yeah mine don't have any markings of duration on them which is why I tend to think they are stock cams. they have a small serial number on the end 404 number I posted in the first post.

Yes, HKS cams have "HKS" clearly imprinted on them. The letter "D" suggests to me that they are stock DSM cams although I'm not sure what year. My stock 6 bolt cams have a "J" on them.

Thanks for that thread, that about seals the deal as far as they are stock cams or at best regrinds. So do you guys think I should file a paypal claim now or wait to see how he responds to the "dispute"?

Personally, I would give him an opportunity to rectify the situation. Either send you the correct cams or refund your money. But if he doesn't, then absolutely file a claim/dispute with Paypal. Also leave feedback regarding him so that other members will know about him. These guide lines are helpful, pay particular attention to items #7 and #11.
