Cam Gears....???

Ok i have a 95 talon and i timed it tonight but it wont start when i turn the crank pully and put it on thr mark im tdc and my cam gears are on there marks, but on my cam gears it says (something about the front of the motor and there both facing t the back of the mototr does this mean i am of a 180 degrees?? it will not start lots of fuel and fire!! Does any one have any pics of the 2.0 n/t cam gears in time so i can see wich way there supose to be facing thanks!!!

make sure the ones that say 2.0 front, are facing front. The other side is for the 2.4L. You want the 2.0 side, speaking the timing marks change and will cause the symptoms you have described.

ok so both the cam gears have to say 2.0 front facing towards the front of the car right?? They are both facing backwards right now.. If i switch them around that should work??? Thanks alot for ## help!!

It should clear your problem up, also hope that nothing got damaged from being so out of time. Some people have bent valves that way and others have had no problems. Best of luck!

You say your cam gears are on their marks? What exactly do you mean by this?

It appears that he is utilizing the stock cam gears, which of course I understand you know that they are two sided. He has the cam gear lined up, with the exception that he is using the 2.4 side, instead of the 2.0 side.

Oh boo...I read his post funny. I thought he said they were already facing the right way, but backwards somehow, or something like that. Yup yup, definitely should have 2.0 facing outwards, with notches aligned while tdc.
