caliper question

the rear drivers side caliper on my car (90gst) is seized..and apparently i need a new one....i was just wondering if the caliper off of a 90gsx would fit work as a replacement

Yes, they are interchangable to a point. Excluding the use of the park brake, it will work. The difference between the two calipers is in the position and angle of the bracket for the park brake cable. I know that you can't put a FWD rear brake on a AWD car and hook the park brake cable up. I have tried this on my formally AWD now RWD car. The stock AWD rear brakes were shot and I installed a set of FWD rears on it. The cables wouldn't fit due to the routing into the bracket at the caliper. But then the car sports an auto, so I decided I didn't need a park brake!!

Although, I'm not sure about how the cable will work doing the inverse..... putting an AWD caliper on the FWD. Try it and let us know how it works.

Again, simply as a brake (without the park brake cable) they will work.

The FWD rear caliper piston is smaller than the AWD version. If you only swap one side it will tend to make the car pull to one side due to the difference in pressure between the two sides
