my clutch start to go bad recently. i was planning to buy my ACT 2600 after getting my turbo-back. but since the clutch is going i am purchasing a clutch first.

should i buy a stock clutch now or just go buy the ACT now? i was planning to get the ACT now instead of buying a stock clutch, then like a month later replacing it with an ACT.

Upgrade now. Since your clutch is already bad buy the ACT and put it in. There is no downside to putting in a beefy clutch early.

thanks :thumb: . i was planning to get the flywheel new while i get the clutch done since its right there. i was planning to get the kit on extremepsi.com with the braided steel clutch line

this one

good kit, should i buy anything else while i am at it or will this be sufficient?

The 2600 is NOT a stock replacement clutch and you should upgrade many things while installing it. Read EVERYTHING Taboo has posted about clutches http://www.taboospeedshop.com/installationtips.htm

Then search for "act2600 problems" and note how many people have difficulty with it thinking they can just slap in it like a stock clutch. And be absolutely sure to get your flywheel AND clutch balanced together. If you do all that then you'll have a much better chance of flawless operation and performance.

ok when i said my clutch is going bad this is what i mean. i could be driving, and it will engage and disengage perfectly. but sometimes after i ride the car hard i feel and hear a pop when i push the clutch in, after a while(minute or two) i will push the clutch in and no problem no pop or anything.

this happen a few days after a mistake behind the wheel. i was on the highway going about 65-70 mph on 5th gear. slowing down because the highway was ending i applied the brakes slowed down about 15-20 mphs where i was around 40-45 mph. put the clutch in and put it in neutral. without thinking about two three seconds later i by mistake put the car in 2nd gear instead of 4th gear and i got a STRONG VIOLENT jerk. about two days later that was when i started getting the pop after riding it hard.

was i right when saying my clutch was going? does anyone had the same or similar experience?

the popping noise is probably something else. if your clutch was going it would be slipping (ie revs increasing, car not going anywhere fast)
