I have a 92 GST. I recently melted a hole in one of my pistons :notgood: and stripped my motor down and im putting stock pistons back in and i want to have 350-400 horsepower when i build it, what would be the cheapest and easiest way to get that? Which turbo and what else would i need? Thanx.

The cheapest and easiest way is a 150 shot of NOS. But that's probably how you melted them in the first place...

Seriously, why would you want to do this "Cheap and Easy"? The block is the heart of your car. Especially if you want 350 -400 horse, you'll want forged pistons and ARP bolts etc. You can add a bigger turbo etc later if you don't have the money now. But it's not wise to build a cheap motor only to blow it once you overboost it a little.

Follow the Stage 1 upgrades on this site. It'll steer you where you want to be.

^^^ what he said.

Just remember, you will get what you pay for. Some times its good to go cheap and easy, others its not. This is one of those times when its not a good idea. Either putting a big shot on a stock block, or piecing and parting togeather nickle and dime parts to build an engine that will take what you want, isnt a good idea.

Do it right the first time and be done with it.

With that said, the cheapest bottom end you can build to take that will be using big1g rods and 2g pistons. Throw some good cams in the head, fp2's or 272's. As far as turbo's go there is a huge list of turbos that will get you to 350-400 hp. Hell you can do it with an evo16g or bigger.

Finally when its all said and done, you can put a shep motor or a Rau motor in your car and not have stock HP. It all comes down to tunning. Building your motor, and have a way to to properly tune it.
