scarborough,
you know that water line with the banjo fitting that goes from the water pipe to turbo. is there any other type of make other than the stock copper one? like a flex line or ss line or some like it so it won't break so easily.

you can assemble your own stanless braided line with a banjo end but itll cost yah. probably like 75-100 depending on the fitting you need/choose.

or you can hack the oem line and use the oem ends and "patch" the center with stainless line for relativly cheap.

I bought the water lines used and the person I bought them from neglected to inform me that there was a bad bend in one of the pipes as you can see. THe red lines show where I would cut and splice, my question is where can I buy this stainless line and what exactly is the line. Could I just use a fuel line as a splice instead of buying stainless line or the temp not allow?

Just cut the line and use some rubber hose and clamps. I used this for my oil return, and coolant lines and have yet to have a problem.

ID looks to be larger than 1/4" and smaller than 3/8". If I were you, I would just get a water line from an OEM parts vendor and never worry about it again. mentormitsubishi gives 25% off all OEM parts and ship quickly. I don't advocate you do this "cut and fix" type thing because it will probably only become a headache after a while, but if you are going to cut that line (which you should if you're going this route), DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use a standard scissor/cutter/whatever. USE A DREMEL WITH A CUTOFF WHEEL. If you use wire snips or something of the like, you will bend close the water line.

I would cut the line at the second red mark and run a rubber hose onto the remaining line with a clamp. Just take the line with you to the parts store to find the right hose.

If you think heat is going to be an issue, use some kind of sheathing over the line to help protect it from the heat.

Maybe the best fix would be getting another line, or fabbing up that stainless one. Seeing as how the line is rubber from the factory what would matter if we simply extended the line a few inches though?

Any specific type of rubber hose? Do you remember the I.D.?

Any similar size heater hose will work, I've cut my oil return line and replaced it six months ago and it's never caused a problem since.
