2G broken tranny mount bolts to the frame. help

I took my tranny out of the car and when I took off the rear mount two bolts broke. I can get a hammer and punch in there or a drill. I tried welding a nut and getting it out that way but still no luck. I sprayed it with pb blaster for 2 weeks. Is there any other ideas you guys have to get these out?

Remove the subframe. Either make a repair once it's out or get another subframe. You might consider welding the bracket to the frame if you have enough room.

Welding is a pretty good option but drilling should work, you just need a smaller drill. I got lucky and those bolts never broke when I replaced my mounts. Also if I'm not mistaken, technically you could get a long drill bit and drill them from the underside of the subframe. You should be able to see them.

I'm just worried about more bolts breaking. I'm thinking about removing the head to free up more room. Plus the head has been off before.

You're talking about under the subframe correct? That means you probably stripped the threads. You could possibly helicoil the bolt holes or maybe get some helicoil inserts.

It looks as if the threads are not in the sub frame. It looks like there are threads on the bracket that is spot welded to the sub frame. Could I just tap the hole in the frame rather than trying to fix the bracket?

Good question. I would say no as there is probably a reason those small bolt brackets are there, most likely to give the bolts more length to thread into.

So should I try to get the bracket off? I just don't see how I can.

I doubt you are going to be able to get at the bracket without having to take the subframe or rack out. I would just chase your good threads, replace the bolts and spot weld the mount where the one broke off. Its easy enough to grind the weld off if you ever decide on pulling the sf out. Drilling the broken bolt out is not going to be easy, you would need a small drill as previously mentioned and you would most likely need to take everything off the firewall to get a good vertical shot at it, not sure if you could get at it from underneath. The mount being welded, potentially stronger than the M10 bolt anyways, no?

Ok so here's a update. I got the rack out with intent to get to the broken bolts. I broke one of the bolts for the rack. So at this point I'm going to take the subframe out.

Here is my problem. Most of the nuts are just spinning with the bolts. How am I to proceed with this?

I would cut them and reweld a stud then put another nut on it ive see it done im going to do the same got me a welder im going to replace my bushings up front there shot, mine spins so im going to that route .

I don't have access to a welder. Are the long bolts actually studs? Do they thread in like the studs on a for the manifold? Anyway I heard of some people cutting the nut or using a nut breaker. Is there any other tricks to save the nut and bolt?

I had to cut off the stud for the subframe. Now my question is will it be fine with 5 out of 6 nut and bolts?

So the bolts for the transmission mount are really in there. I used different EZ outs and there just not coming out. Could I drill it out and retap the same thread? I want to save this piece.
Problem two. The subframe stud is cut. I cant weld a new one there. I dont have access to that.Could I run with 5 of 6?
