well the housing that holds the thremostat one of my get friends broke one of the loops that the bolt goes through? i tried to fix this with jbweld and other things like that? where could a get another one? is this a reason that my car is over heating ?

Junk yard would be your best bet. I dont know if they are the same as a 1g. but I have a spare one lying around somewhere for a 1g. Unless you loosing all your coolant out through that spot I dont think that is the only reason your overheating. Did the jb weld seal it tight? Does it leak at all?

jb would work for alittle and the pressure was pushing iut off so... yes it is leaking out after the pressure pushing the jb off could this cause the other heating? you have one? how muhc?

Im not sure if it would cause all your over heating problums, but if your not keeping coolant in the system that is the first place to look. The one I have is off a 1990 2.0 n/t if it will work $10 shipped. How bad does it overheat? How quickly ect.

If it is leaking then you are most likely getting air in the system as well and that would be a good cause of your overheating. Anytime you take the thermostat out or drain the coolant it is a good idea to replace it because to much exposure to air can cause the wax pellet inside to go bad and no want to open.

well does anyone know if the N/t housing will fit? just need to top part that the bolts go through?

Well I just looked both up on CAPS and the 2G is different than the 1G. The 2G uses a different style housing, as the old one uses 3 bolts, and has a trianglular shape to the gasket. The gasket on the 2G is like an O-ring type, and has 4 bolts that hold it on.

well see we are talking about different things here the one i am looking for is the one that the rad cap is on? not the part that goes to the block? will this part fit from any year>

Well, by looking at the diagrams, they look the same, however, they have 2 different part numbers. I can't tell you if the both will fit, however, i do have a spare that came off a 91 if you want it, PM me.
