So i was wondering if my front and rear motor mounts are broken and i buy the polyurethane inserts will i need to buy brand new front and rear mounts?

I installed the Ralliart rally-spec mounts on my Evo last week. First time I fired it up it felt like a vibrator on wheels! Thankfully the mounts have seated themselves now and I just get a little more vibration than normal. Feels pretty good though. So if you're gonna change mounts, I would say upgrade if you have the funds.

If your mounts are broken you have a couple options, you could go to a junk yard for a cheap temp use or you can upgrade them to something alot better. Depends on what you want to spend or do.

If you can weld you could just make soild mounts yourself...I did,I just turned up idle a tad on my dsmlink and the extra vibrations are hardly noticable.I like them better then the rubber things.I just went to a hardware store and found some huge washers that were a little bit smaller diameter of the mounts and drug my welds to the edge of the mounts. And I welded the center round hole part to the inside of the washer hole. Not bling bling looking, but whatever I was happy.

+1, I did the same. Filling them is cheaper than buying new ones and you get the same performance as buying the aftermarket. I run these on my other car.

I've used urethane on my own and others' cars and received nothing but praise. PN 8644K11 from McMaster Carr is usually what I go with. Good luck

well i called advanced auto parts and they have a lifetime warranys :thumb:
and im installing the polyurethane mounts so they dont break anymore.

but i have a question. would the broken mounts make it hard to shift/cause gears to grind?

I'll throw a x3 on that. If you can weld, or know someone who "can" weld it back together and throw the inserts in there. It will be just fine.

i know the post is old, but just to answer the question... yes broken motor mounts would make it a bit more difficult to shift resulting in possible grinding of the syncros in your tranny caused by the tranny/engine moving while you are trying to shift. hope this helps someone if they happen to fall upon this thread.
