hey guys i have a 6 bolt turbo engine that I am building and read the wrong torque and it broke. I took it to carquest and they said they cant get it out it is to strong. my question is. Should I take it into another machine shop or give up on that block?

A real machine shop should be able to get it out and/or fix the threads if needed

We don't have Carquest here in New Jersey and I've always thought of them as another AutoZone, NAPA, or Strauss auto parts chain store...but I'm sorry if I am wrong, cause I've never been to one, haha

But what I mean is that real machine shops that specialize in just engine machining and stuff can most likely get that bolt out and repair it if needed or they'll tell you if it can't be done

Again, sorry if I insalted you, didn't mean it at all

It not that hard a process to do... sounds like they do not have the proper drill bits to do it, ar just do not want to do it....
its no diffrent than removing a broken exhaust manifold bolt

Carquest here has always been good. If you have availability to a welder you can just weld a nut into the broken bolt and put a socket on the new nut and back it out. No reason to junk the block unless you destroyed the threads the bolt goes into.
