Broken Line between bov and intake, cause BOV to operate oddly?

There is a pipe that runs from the bov to the intake line, right before the turbo. It looks like this line had a metal coupling that was "welded" for lack of a better term, into the intake hose. That "weld" has busted and I have a feeling this could cause the BOV to operate oddly. Am I correct in assuming this? And if so has anyone experienced this or have an idea of how to go about fixing it (without spending money on the crappy intake pipe to replace it)?

I think this may be the source of my boost leak, and I can hear what sounds like the bov just constantly letting out pressure. I already went in and made sure the upper/lower IC pipe and intake pipe are tightly attached and cleaned them all out.

My profile should show what car I have, but if it hasn't updated yet, its a 1991 Eclipse GSX

Thank you very much!

Its fuinny I was reading another un related post and realized that it was the recirc tube. Ok, but isn't likely that it would cuase a boost leak then huh? It seems like once i hit about 4K or so RPM it doesn't pull as hard as down lower. It still sounds like there is a "wwwwsssshhhhhhh" noise near BOV/IC at 4K and above with my foot in it. Short of making a tester and testin it out, is there anytihng that can be done to make sure the bov is working as it should?

I'll have to make me a tester soon.....

Thanks for the reply!

Fixed it! Put some cold weld on there, and it looks perfect now. Its still in the garage on jackstands, and is going tobe that way till I get the new CHRA o ring on, install new axles, change out the tranny/rear/transferCase oil, and fix up the bearings on the drive shaft, its got a mean thump!

thanks
