Hey I have ALOT of problems with my car but my main concern right now is that I was sitting in my car one night letting the engine idle. Then all of a sudden my car just shuts off like a fuse blew or something, my stereo doesn't turn in my battery is charged, I checked all my bus fuses and idk what relays are or do but my gauge pod isn't working my door alarm isn't working, but my light work when the door is open and the over head light works, the door light on my gauge works, but it's like my ignition system just quit working. My starter switch I wired my self works of course and fuel pump my friend manually wired for me works. Could it be like my ecu? Or like the ECM that's in the engine bay with all the wires sticking out? Or a relay?

I did that's how I checked all of my fuses i don't even know if im getting power to my fuses.

take a picture of the fuses under the hood. I don't think anyone here trusts in your ability to check them.

In all seriousness, Why did YOU wire up something different then stock on the Starter? Test the battery to MAKE SURE you have good power. There are Im betting the battery terminals are loose and mad a bad connection, or the wires in said terminals are making bad connection.

D you have a volt meter? NO? Get one. start probing.

I have a good battery.connection and I checked all the fuses well bus fuses not the block looing fuses but I W's just chillin and everything just stooped like ignition and everything so I know my wiring not mechanics so well but I'm learning.

Wait what is a pictures of my fuses gonna do if u can't see if there blown unless I take then out one by one

Check all the wiring that you and your friend wired in to make sure that there is no bare wires that could have shorte something out. As mentioned before, why did you mess with the wiring in the first place? If it ran fine before that, then I would suggest staring there!

If your asking that question, then your not looking at the right fuses. You should be able to pop the fuse box cover off, in your engine bay, and see the large fuses, they should have clear tops to easily see if they are goo or not, no need to take them out....

Get a volt meter and VERIFY your batt is good, and look at the "Engine" Fuse and the other fuses in that area. Just because you say its a good connection means 0. Test it and Verify.. If your learning, thats fine.. then you need to take advice instead of ASSUMING...

Let me hold your hand..

Il take a pic when I head out there in alittle bit but I did test it with a volt meter 12.58 volts.

I fixed it i accually looked at the bigger fuses in the hood and my ignition was blown

The big question. is HOW /WHY did the engine or Alt fuse pop? Odds are its something you've added or mucked with.. Simply replacing will get you running, but odds are it will do it again..So what ever cute wiring you've introduced.. you may want to undo it.

I'm taking out the ecu and them and all that crap and doing the wiring myself because didnt do the wiring the first time I'm confident about my wiring...even tho it makes me look stupid I didn't know how to i check a stupid fuse but its my tail lights because when I turn my lights on my back lights don't work unless I press on the brake...

So I think my ecu is going bad I've got new plugs-wires- egr cleaned the tube throttle body tps and the ICS fuel injectors are testing good new fuel filter .. codes come up at random are rear 02 but got defollers for the test pipe hasn't been on in a while but new ones are ICS cleaned that ... new one is all 4 injectors circuits codes tested thoses voltage are good the main time I have a problem is at light it just wants to stall at random fine one day not the next also if I go inside for two hours codes will clear them self's and run fine again but when I do leave it alone it starts fine I got a voltage gauge and always fine on volts I've tryed everything I can think of thanks for any suggestions

Ya I got a 99 auto makes it a little hard to get ahold of in my area.

Bring it to my house and I'll look at it for you.

Also, there are junkyards in NC with 100's of NT eclipses. I can go grab 5-6 ecu's for $60 total at any time.

TSicktalon- sent you a message about meeting up ... only runs about 20 mins before it starts stalling all over ... went to lkq yard they had no 99 autos out there I also checked Durham lkq too ..
