2G brembo brake upgrade and few questions

Im doing the brembo upgrade pretty soon. Im aware on how to do the install but there are a few grey areas for me.

Will stock 2g 16s fit with these?

Will the stock evo fixed lines work? The seller says they will.

Thats what I figured but what about the lines? Another question is I have fwd so can I still put the rears on?

You need at minimum 17 inch rims with correct offset, Evo 8 rims have 38 offset, but the shape of the rim is more important to make sure it doesn't hit the caliper. GSX brake lines are usable with the Brembos, they have a banjo fitting which is needed. Rear Evo Brembos will bolt on to your rear knuckle, you will have to remove some of your rear brake dust cover though.

Rx7 revised stock 16s fit over the brembos. That's the only 16" wheel that I have seen fit. That is with spacers however.

The only 16s that you can run are FD RX7 rims, and that requires some sort of a spacer. You'll need a bracket for the front, or JDM Galant Knuckles. And rears are bolt on but you'll lose the dust shield unless you can fabricate your own. As far as brake lines, I'm not sure of the evo lines will work, but your 2g lines will work.

Ok so I just got my brembos in the mail. Pretty pumped. Now I update this thread with any issues I have.

I read a bunch on rims and can't clearify if 40 offset will work or not. I'm trying to find some cheep rims around 400 but should I get 35 offset?

The minimum ET you shluld looking for is 38, but as previous post Christoph had mentioned, shape is more important.
Some rims you can't put it on even it has ET35.

Ok so I figured I would post a update. U got the backs on. They were very straight foward. The 2g bolts won't work. You will need different ones. I forget what ones they are. Another thing is the brembo rears use a banjo brake line however the 2g one will simply screw in you just need to spin the caliper on. I don't know if they will leak or not till I bleed them. I will post back on that. I picked up a cheap set of wheels for 140 however im worried they won't clear the front but clear backs with ease. Also stock 16 will fit over the back. I had on 3G wheels.

You will most likely have a problem clearing the front calipers with 16's as everyone has stated. They are MUCH larger than the rear calipers.

Yes I know there bigger. I was just stating that 16s do fit in the rear. The pic I posted was with 17s.

When bleeding the brembos with the bleeders is there a certain way? Do you do one bleeder at a time? Also I did bleed them and rather than squirting it just oozed out on the backs. The fronts one bleeder on both squirted and the other oozed but no signs of air. So after I finished the process and kept pressing brake the reservoir stayed filled. I just want to make sure there bled correctly.

I finally got my brakes on. I can move the rotor by hand when the wheel is off. But when the wheel is on it binds on something and cant figure how to fix it. I noticed some uneven wear on the inner edge of the rotor where the pad is. Not sure why this is or if the brackets are uneven. All I can think of when the wheel is tightened the rotor is not straight or the caliper is not. The brakes and rotors came from the same car.

I posted pics of the shiny spots of where I think its uneven. I can also feel it. The rotors where cut already but not sure if that is my issue.

My last post was a few years ago. But I got new rotors and pads for the brembos. I have evo rims as well. I think the issue was not enough was dremeled off the caliper but I cant remember. Can you even buy these brackets anymore?

I'll ad some more info. I drove the car with the brembos and 3g master cylinder and definitely a big difference. You have to apply more pressure to the pedal to stop.

When I replaced my motor a few months back, i thought it would be a good time to install a 3g brake booster as well. I'm still getting used to it. I don't drive it much. I did the install over winter. The pedal is now pretty touchy. The brakes are really responsive.

I personally like the pedal with our 2g brake booster. I find the 3g and the brembos to be really touchy. Might just be to new to me.

Thanks for the update. I was going to use the 3g master and booster right away

I bought my brackets years ago and they've been sitting. If they're really not available anymore maybe this will help whoever wants to make their own set
