2G Brake Pedal Cable

Today I was looking up under my dash for laying out the holes for the clutch pedal for the manual swap I'm planning. I noticed my brake pedal assembly has a cable attached to it. It's the same kind of cable as the throttle cable, parking brake cable, ect... but attached to the brake pedal. What is this for?

Probably a shift lock. Keeps you from taking it out of park unless you press the brake.
Never messed with an auto dsm but my Jeep has one.

This. It works in conjunction with the cable from your ignition lock.

So when I remove it all for the swap, what all needs to be removed in that area?

Basically when you push down the pedal it releases the shift lock to remove the tranny from park

When I did a 6 speed swap I just unhooked the assembly from the steering column and tossed it in the trash. I would assume the same for your car. It can just be left disconnected
