I am planning on getting the hks ssqv? Would the universal kit include everything i need to just install it myself, im not quite sure how all that works? whats the best kit?
Also- I will be running stock boost for awhile maybe forever, so will this have any effect on sound(what im trying to say is will it still be loud enough to scare people LOL)?
Also- i've read that its know for the greddy type-s to be used on cars running about lower than 15psi. Is the stock boost enough to get the noise im looking for in the hks?

first, the BOV only includes a BOV, they have a flange assy that allows it to be used in the stock 2G ICP (for additional cost) but if you actually look at the stock pipe their is a weird bend/pinch just under the airbox which restricts flow quite well. So you may want to go to dejontool and purchase a UICP flaged for teh HKS and stick it in, but running it vented MAY give you driveability issues, which includes loss of power at shift and or stalling, again I stressed MAY since some cars are affected more than others on this. Second scaring people from the sounds your car makes is not a reason to upgrade it. We upgrade for performance, but to answer your quesiton. Yes a vented HKS SSQV is quite loud even with a stock T25 powered vehicle. the Maft translator allows you to properly vent your BOV with the use of a GM MAF AFTER the BOV in the UICP.

1. Good selection on the bov.
2. No, you will either need an UICP flanged for a HKS BOV, purchase a flange to attached to your stock ic hoses, or buy the kit for your car which comes with the flange to attach the bov to the ic hoses. there is no best kit, the kits are all the same.
3. The HKS sounds mean vented, but since I believe you are not going to be venting(which is good) it sounds ok.
4. Yes it will pretty good.

Hope this helps.. Stay boostin

I have the HKS SSBV for my ride and it sounds mean vented...howerver, after i registered here I have heard that venting without the proper parts is "frowned upon"..not only by true DSM'ers, but your ride may clue you in she is mad as well. Therefore, I bought the recirculation kit for forty bucks which will help adjust the air/fuel and the backfires. Good Luck!

He obviously just wants some extra sound to make his ride look/sound cooler.
Which is not a big deal and i dont think that anybody should dog on him for
wanting to do that it's his ride and is up to him how and in what order he
wants to mod but i dont care. :boring:

If you want some sound look into the GReddy super sound model.

Oh yea and check out www.horsepowerfreaks.com
It's a pretty big store and carries mods and parts for almost anything.

Great attitude you got there, if you don't care then you shouldn't have posted. The purpose of this board is for new members to learn from others who has more experience on a particular subject. If someone was to post "I'm running 20psi, can I use 87 octane as DD?", are we suppose to say "no way" and explain why like people have done on this thread about venting or should we say ":boring: who cares, do what you want, it's your car." and let them find out the hard way? ;)

Read my reply again Oldman

i said it's obvious he wants a louder BOV
so i gave the link and suggested using the
GReddy super sound.

That part of your post is fine but not the part I was refering to, your post seem to suggest that it's OK to vent and everyone should stop trying to talk him out of it.
