Bov leaking too soon?

Hey guys. This problem is a little bit hard to describe but im gonna do my best. I have an Auto 95 GSX stock owned it for about 3 months now and always knew I have had some boost leaks , took care of one of them but still felt like I still had another one.

My problem is that while driving, when I hit about 9psi I start to hear what sounds like my bov releasing air, I have NOT let off the gas peddle at all at this point. So basically it sounds like a continious realease a of my bov when I hit 9psi untill I let off the gas. From searching i've found that the stock 2g is very leaky, but i know its not supposed to leak this soon. And also when at idle I can feel air coming out of the bov when i take the dumb tube off. Im pretty sure this is not suppose to happen? Please any help would be apreciated as this leak of mine is starting to get to me.

There really isn't any set point that the 2g BOV will leak at, I've seen anywhere from 6-15 tested with a boost leak tester. I'd say start your search for a 1g BOV or an aftermarket one.

As for the air coming out of the BOV at idle, that really can't happen. When you are at idle, your intake tract is under vacuum, so it would be sucking air from any leaks you may have.

my 98 would leak at about 11psi, so your really worn out 95 probably would be about right at 9ish. same suggestion...get a 1g bov.

Yeah I figured its time to get a new bov. Another quick quick question, I'm planning on going with a 1st gen bov, to my understanding I need some kind of adapter plate to go on my stock piping? Can somebody please confirm this, Thanks!

yes you will, so now is a good time for the ic pipe upgrade.
