Well, it was an expensive weekend for us at Boost Boyz Racing. Here's the total from what we KNOW is wrong so far:
1 awning on the side of the trailer $2000+ (broke during the freak storm we had on Friday afternoon).
1 12x12 tent $200 (Same day storm)
1 4 bolt rear $??? (Track HOOKED like a mofo!!!)
1 2nd gear slider $TBD (Result of rear breaking)
1 2nd gear $TBD (See above)
2 blowouts on the trailer $125 apiece (Happened right after the toll booth. We only carry ONE spare!)
Through all of this, we really were going to try to come out for 1st round of eliminations. We were going to buy one of Jake's spare second gears and were going to give it a ride. The only problem there was that we run different second gears, so we weren't able to use it. If we have parts to compete, we're going to be out there. We will not allow these setbacks to keep us from the track. If we have parts, we'll be at Summer Slam and whatever other events we have on our schedule. It's just that simple for us. We race. It's what we try to do. We will get it right soon, we're just going through some teething with this car while trying to figure out what it likes.
I learned so much from Jake Montgomery over this past weekend. This is one of the genuinely nice guys in the DSM community. This is a thank you to Wayne (he told me to call him that!!), Jake, and Nicole. They helped us so much during their east coast trip. I learned more from him in a half hour than I've learned in classes I've paid to attend. Thanks and I can only hope that our paths will cross again, and soon! You have one kick ass car, and I'm sorry your trip ended the way it did; with the window in the motor. Those tried and true R+R's finally gave up the ghost after all the runs you put on them. Keep on pushing, Jake! You'll make Vegas for sure!
This is also a thank you for everyone who stopped by and offered to pick up a wrench and help out. Man, I appreciate it all!! Thanks for everyone who came by and just said hi. We are trying to return that love by showing up to events and trying to lay down some times. We'll keep pushing!! Hopefully we'll see you guys at Englishtown!!!
No need to thank me Sean! it's what I love to do, it was my pleasure to help out. Wish we could have gotten your car back together for eliminations. You were definitely a stand up guy and enjoyed talking with you and Sandra and your whole team! It's good to see grass root guys on small budgets working as hard as we do to show them how we get it done!
Sorry to hear about the trouble with the trailer tires, that sucks!
As far as my motor, this just gave me reason to do the things I have been wanting to do now. I don't think I'm going to be able to get the motor done by the vegas event though
once we get back home it leaves me one week to get parts ordered, motor done, and running. I don't think I can pull it off financially wise, SO I think our goal is to have the car back up and running by the Sacramento BOTI event with a few new tricks. After racing the million dollar backing teams at MIR I think it's time to step it up another notch to hang with Kenny Tran and the GM cobalt boys. If you can't beat them, join them, time for methanol
I wasn't going to do it till next season, but man, I gotta do something to hang with these guys. I figured my 8.80's I have been running would be a good battle with the boys in Pro Import class, guess I was wrong. We look forward to coming back down there next season!

I kept my a$$ under the canopee. Ya the AWD Spider w/ stripper theme graphics took 1st place eclipse. The girls were looking sexy!
