I was just wondering how much boost I can push on a 16g evo 3 turbo with out hurting my car I'm only running about 10psi right now can go to a higher psi thanks

i have a avc-r actuator valve controller type-r in my car its got a lot of settings on it i have it set on stock i dont know how to tone with it but it dos show me how much air my intake is getting though. p.s. if anyone has one of these and knows how to tune them let me know please thanks.

for you to start tuning or someone here help you tune at least you need to buy a wideband and a logger so you can see what's going on inside you engine . trust me, i'm in the same predicament i have a small 16g and a safc and now i'm waiting on wideband and a logger

Get yourself the Innovate MXTL wideband. Stay away from the AEM unit, it's just not as good for many reasons which I don't feel like posting up again. It's the same price as well.

In all honesty, I would keep the 16g at stock wastegate pressure until you can log and monitor how your system is running and reacting to the increased air flow.

As long as you aren't detonating, your head gasket will be fine until you reach the point where you are making enough cylinder pressure to lift the head. At that point you would want ARP head studs and even then, the OEM composite gasket will work wonders.

Before you go out and buy random things people are telling you, make sure you do your own research on the items being brought up and compare with what your goals are. It's better to spend more up front one time than making many small purchases because you have to keep changing parts.
