Vancouver,
I was installing my HKS manual boost controller and while testing it and setting the boost accidently boosted to 23PSI for less than a second:mad:, boost build up so quickly that I just had enough time to get off gas.

Reason I am posting is that I am a bit paranoid and I guess I just want someone tell me that its nothing major, I am running 94 Octane gas, Platinum plugs @ 4c* day, brand new fuel filter, all the free mods 3" exaust no cats streight trough.

Most of the time I run 14PSI with boost creep to 17PSI

Don't worry, i was pinning the boost gauge (30+psi) a few times before i got my electrionic boost controller:barf:

With stock fuel system the car would of hit fuel cut before you could do any real damage.

You should be fine for hitting that boost for just a sec.

These platinum plugs though suck on turbo cars. Ever notice some missfires under boost, especially around 4k? Platinums were not meant for high cylinder pressures.

youll be fine...i boosted to 25 once during a race (still not sure why it went that high) and i dug into the motor a week later and still looked new:thumb: get those platinums out of your car though:thumbdown

Platinum plugs are NGK, I heard people say that copper once are better, don't remmember the part# some thing like BRB3********

Get some BPR7ES or BPR6ES. That's the recommended plugs.

Platnum, weither it be NGK or otherwise, is junk in our cars. People run the BPR7ES, but I would recomend the BR7ES (non-protruding electrode). I have known quite a few people to loose their knock when swiching to the non protruding plug.

23 psi is no big deal. On a 14b, it wasnt doing anything anyways!

Absolutely correct about the plugs. Platinum plugs have a tendency to hold heat very well. They can lead to detonation and melted pistons.

I am running these exact plugs. It was all by dealer accident, but turned out to be the best thing for me. I was buying BPR7ES's but got the BR7ES instead. :thumb:

IT is not one of those things you will say hey, my car is 10 times faster now! You will see the differecne if you have a logging capability, of if you go to a dyno tunning sesion and your car refuses to stop knocking:thumbdown

Take my word for it, BR7ES
