hey guys .... I just installed my front mount intercooler over the last week ..... ive had a 50mm tial BOV for awhile but have not been able to use it .... well i have installed the tial on the setup and finished routing all the piping for the FMIC ..... i took it for a drive and noticed a boost leak once i hit like 17-20 LBS ..... i didn't think i was the BOV but i then performed a boost leak test and the only leak i found was the TIAL BOV .... i couldn't understand it either, knowing the the tial is one of the best BOV's on the market for holding boost .... mind you im running a 14b with 2 1/2" piping with a FMIC core size of 24x12x4. I put the leak tester on the inlet of the turbo and used an air compressor to put the air into the system ....... i could put 20LBS of pressure until the TIAL BOV starts leaking from the valve and could not get any more then 20lbs of boost into the system. Im not sure what spring was included with the purchase of the BOV but my question is do i have a defective BOV or do i need a tighter spring for it?? I did open the BOV up prior to installing it on the car because i was curious about what was on the inside ........ maybe the spring was installed incorrectly when i put it back together??? I know i have no other boost leaks in my system .... i used hairspray inside the couplers and have all T-BOLT clamps securing the piping. I purchased the BOV from AMS(Automotosports).

I just need some input on what to do here? Any help would be much appreciated.

They do have three or four springs and you need to check your engine vacuum to see which one you need. They do have very good rep and are used in many many fast cars .They should have no problem with a 14b..
they are goregeous looking also..very impressed with mine when took it out of the box.
I can't say how it performs yet as my car is waiting for everything in the sig to be installed simultaneously in next month or so.

I bet its the spring..

hmmm, I am using the 11 psi spring in mine. I think that is the "standard" one they come with. I have pressure tested my system all the way to 30 psi and had no leaks anywhere, including the BOV. Make sure the seal around the valve isnt torn. The valve isnt moving when you do the pressure test is it. If the actual valve moves on the test then maybe you need a stiffer spring. If it doesnt move, than its probably the seal.

No the valve does not move when i performed the boost leak test .... Do i open the BOV to check if the seal is torn ........ i dont know why it would be torn .... havn't used the BOV more then 4 hours now ..... maybe i tore it when reassembling it??? :(

Yeah my guess is that when reinstalling it you either pinched the diaphram or something to that extent. Just take it back apart and visually inspect it. Then when putting it back together put some sealant around where the bolts would go. That should seal it up real good.

You need 11psi spring for 20 inches of vacuum. You can get replacement parts if you wrecked something.

im gonna open it back up today ..... if the diaphram is messed up wheres a good place to get replacement parts???
