So installed the boost gauge today. I will post pics of the custom pod later.

I hooked up my VW and Miata from the intake manifold just like all the pic here @ DSM Tuners, but I am pretty sure when I slowly give it throttle and in neutral the vacuum goes to zero.

My 96 GS-T does not, vacuum actually increases.

Also the car is stock, I am second owner. I added a Dejon intake and removed the restrictor on wastegate. Somehow I am spiking at nearly 18PSI. I have a brand new from Jegs VDO gauge, not the best brand but descent.

Are these 2 symptoms normal?

The car was owned by a 60+ old lady and she bought it new in 1996.
I seriously doubt its tuned. On the way to work it hovered around 15 after the spike.

Checking accuracy at work today.

Just checked my gauge with calibrated equipment. My VDO gauge is nearly spot on.

Could the spike be from a sticky waste gate solenoid?
I am also curious if it is the wrong one. VW'ers can switch to a Audi solenoid that reacts slower for quicker spool.

no I left it alone. I don't know what boost the actuator is set for.

Ha darn, nice pickup! Ya I doubt its tuned also. Good luck finding your issue though man

I noticed that my idle was kinda rough today. So I double checked my routing at the Fuel Pressure solenoid and at idle it wasn't open after a few revs it opened back up and allowed air to be sucked in.

Anyway, here is my wastegate pics.
