Hi everyone,

I have 1 hour to finish with the boost gauge install and I'm stuck in one of the steps.

I've already connected te hose to the fuel pressure solenoid and I'm now trying to get the gauge to light with the dash.

he gauge is an autometer electronic gauge and I'm following the instructions from http://www.jumptronix.com/2g_go_faster/Faqs/BoostGaugeFAQ.htm

I'm trying to remove the B-66 junction block but it won't come out. I've tried to find the release button the FAQ mentions but I can't. If I pull hard it won't come out neither.

Is there any way to tap these cables to the car without pulling that box?

And .... this faq doesn't say nothing about a third RED cable that comes with this particular gauge.

Thanks in advance for your help and I'd greatly appreciate if you answer as soon as possible.

Ok let's see ... the red wire seems to have to be tapped to a 12volt source that maintains power during engine cranking so ... where can i find one of those? Any of the wires of the B-66 block?

I still haven't managed to pull out the block so i guess i'll end up cutting the black and green-white wires and tap the guage wires there.

Again ... thanks in advance :|

If you wanna tap into your lighter........

Remove the pannel on the drivers side of the center area. 2 screws
Tap it into the green wire of the cig lighter light.
It will light up with the dash

Very Very easy.

Ok it's done.

TurboGST: I couldn't tap it to the lighter because this gauge needs to be connected to a power suply that doesn't go down when the engine starts, the lighter does :( This is because the gauge calibrates itself finding a zero when power comes into it. If power fails the calibration is lost and it gives erroneous readings.

I think this is why some people can't get their autometer electronic vac/boost gauges to work fine.

What I've done is, with a tester, try to find a fuse in the drivers side fusebox that meets that requirment. It's been a hard work but at last I've wired the mofo to the backlight fuse and it works just fine.

Then, noticing that the puel pressure gauge I've also purchased has the same three cables (white-power, black-mass, red-maf.power) I've wired them together with the boost gauge ones so there are less wires coming down to the footrest compartment.

Regards

Too late to help, but still-

How the hell stupid is that? Why don't the rocket mechanics at the gauge company put a memory battery in the gauge. Argh. Stone knives and bearskins.
