Well I finally get to do my exhaust verry soon.... so i needed to make sure of one thing..
I dont plan on upgrading my turbo bigger then a B16G, but...never know i guess haha. Right now its my ported 14b. I dont know what size exhaust to spring for. I was told 3" by a friend, but he said he's not sure about boost creep. So i was thinking, instead of buying 2 exhausts, one now, and one when i get a larger turbo, could i get a 3" catback, and use a 2.5" downpipe temporarily, and would that be enough to hold off boost creep? That way i can sell my DP and get a full 3" DP and not have to spend a lot of $ once i get a big turbo, cause i will be driving the 14b around for awhile yet. I dont mind about the ineffeciency of having a 2.5" to cat to 3" exhaust, but just want to know if anyone thinks it will not creep badly. I have a ported O2 housing i will put on too, supposedly will help i believe. Thanks guys :thumb:

ya a ported 02 housing will reduce creep. i dont know about buying 2 exhausts tho, it seems like overkill, if you plan on upgrading turbos anyway, then just monitor boost and try to ileviate(sp?) the creep...

just my 2 cents

and you have MBC so if it creeps too high...then turn it down

ok. thanks!
Well not two whole exhausts, just would end up buying 2 DP's ;)
So i could sell the 2.5, and get a 3 once i get a turbo.
Only reason I'm wondering is that I dont want to get a full 3" now and have it creep, because i wont be getting a new turbo for a while.
I was hoping that a 2.5" DP, and leaving the cat on wouldnt create a boost creep problem w/ a 3" catback.

cool thanks a lot!
i know all about it now, and how to fix
But do you think i WILL creep noticeably w/ what im gonna get? Or is it just dependent on the car and I'm going to have to find out for myself (probably will huh  ) Only reason wondering because, as per now, i would rather not have to deal with working out another problem and spend more $$, or try to port things myself when all i have is a dremel.
