Which is better a manual or electronic Boost Controller?

I prefer the electronic boost controller better, but if you have a good wastegate setup, then a manual boost controller should work fine for you. I like the ability to control the wastegate opening. Also, since I have an adj. wastegate arm, I can set the boost level I want with the controller off, and I have Low and High boost settings also. I run 16 psi normally, 20 psi for having fun, and 22-24 psi for "race situations".

ok geting the star stage 2 turbo kit and looking in to geting a boost controller. i was looking at the trubosmart dual stage boost controller. i was wondering how they work. like does it go in between the turbo and wastegate or what

I had an electronic mbc in my car when it was fwd, profec b, on a high hp FWD car a two stage boost controller is a big plus..

look for SRP boost controllers on ebay. cheap and solid. had mine on for over a year&half, never had to readjust after initial setting. sits SOLID at 16psi. depending on outside air temps, i sometimes see a slight spike to maybe 17psi, but it settles right back to 16psi everytime. (SRP is a good friend of mine too, but i trust his controller and so do a whole bunch of local guys. he even has a few overseas dealers that buy from him all the time)

i think it's about $15 shipped if i'm not mistaken.

Good to know, I just bought the srp boost controller and put it in yesterday. Even with the thread at only one notch I Was having 20 psi. I decided to do a little modification and cut 2 coils off of it. Then I adjusted and screwed it in more and ive now got it boosting rock solid at 15 psi.
