Have a boost controller. It's a Godspeed and I think it's cheaply but it did work. Now I have the boost all the way down(mbc) and it still pushes 15-20 psi the sounds like I have a serge at 10psi. Like if i hold it at 10 or so it will sound like barings that are dry but coming from my bov (type s greedy)Any help?

You have it all the way down?

Turn it all the way out!!! Your boost will go to WG spring pressure, then turn it a few times till you are where you want to be.

So wait on mine it said boost ---->+ (more boost right, - <---- (less boost right). Looks like this

<-------
-
Boost
+
------>

Turn it all the way on the plus side? (clockwise)

Just think about it, this mbc is probably a ball-spring kind. So, if you screw it in then that will increase the pressure on the ball that is blocking the boost pressure to go through to the wastegate actuator, which will require more force (boost) to over come. If you loosen it, then there will be less pressure on the spring so boost will be able to come through easier, making its way to the actuator. Righty-moreboosty, lefty-wastegatepressury. :thumb:

Yeah I have it all the way left. Lefty loossie. All the way down. So. All on the WG spring. No?

I think the whole damn left and right turning is confusing.

Just say clockwise or counter-clockwise. Jeez! :p

Yeah, that should have it running on the wastegate spring pressure. Some lower end mbc's tend to spike as they don't have the ability to bleed a little bit to keep the pressure consistent. Does this sound happen when you let off the accelerator, causing the bov to release pressure?

Okay sorry I have it all the way counter clock wise.LOL

I guess I think I got a cheaply made mbc. But it's not when I let off say I barly hit the gas and keep the psi steady at 10psi it'll be I think surge. With my bov I tried to let it open (bov all the way clockwise) right?

But all I get is a little noise. Take a skateboard wheel and loosen it up to where it wobbles like a bit** and spin it with your hand as fast as you can, that's what I hear.

Boost controller. I think the guy before me. Just had it a month now ;). The guy before me had a turbo nipple to WG I think. I haven't really looked but he told me that's what he did. Everyone everywhere said that's a good setup.

Yeah, if you wnat to run wastegate pressure that will work fine. The proper way to do a mbc is post-turbo boost source to mbc and then mbc to wastegate nipple. The boost spikes most likely are since it's a little more of a cheaper controller. The ones that nxs motorsports sells has a teeny hole drilled in it to allow the controller to slightly bleed some pressure to make the signal a little more consistent.

Now that I think of it, the way you explained that sound it makes me think compressor surge which could be caused by a number of things including the bov no operating optimally.

+1, could be surge if the BOV is set too tight. Go through the proper bov setup procedure and find out what wg spring you have. If its 10lbs, then the minimum youll run is 10lbs. The mbc will only help you get more boost it cant "amplify" the input to the wg, only reduce it.
You should let it idle and tighten the bov to where its just sealing without flutter. Atleast, thats what ive always heard the proper way is. Cranking the bov clockwise and increasing spring preload may cause it to hesitate when the throttle plate closes, therefore slamming that compressed air back towards the comp wheel. Not good obviously. Just a guess though.
Boost creep could be a possiblity and is much more common. Port the wg flapper hole and o2 housing in that case.

Thanks for the help I'll check that out and maybe port.

Probably 16g, that's what the Evo III's came with stock. Look to see if there's a j-pipe on your turbo, if there is then it is certainly not a stock t25. I feel as though compressor surge would not happen with a t25.

boost97gst is also correct on how your bov may be set a bit too tight. Also check to see if the vacuum nipple on top of the bov is connected to a vacuum source and has NOTHING else tapped into it. That vacuum source is vital to the bov opening and closing properly.

I have a j pipe and should I turn my bov clock or counter to open?

Counter right. And looks all right and good in my bay. I think this mbc is just a pos
