Wetaskiwin,
Hey I have a few questions. I decided to get some responses and do some homework before I do this free mod. http://www.freewebs.com/seanspage/BCS.html. That is the website to show you how to remove your BCS.

1. I was wondering they say its a Free Mod and easy to do. But if the effects are not you your liking can you reverse the proceedure and return back to normal?

2. In doing this mod will it raise your boost. Or just make it so if you install a MBC that you can have more boost from this mod? Me and my friend were talking about that. Cauz it says if you remove it you will gain 3-4 psi.

3. Is it best to get an MBC after you remove the BCS restrictor? Or pill as I like to call it.

If you have any other tidbits about this whole procdure and if you have done it please let me know. I don't want to do anything that will be shitty in the long run

do the mod. it will maybe add at most 1 psi to your car with no ill effects. you don't have to do any other modification whatsoever for this to help you out. you will probably gain around 5hp or so.

in theory, you will gain 1-4 psi, but all cars are different, so you may not see any gain at all. This "mod" however will not harm your car. There is only a chance that it will make it faster (so do it!!)

mbc - When you put on a MBC, you bypass this solinoid alltogether, so theres no need to worry once you upgrade to a mbc.

ive done this to my talon, but i did it while i put on the intake and removed the inlet silencer and the honeycombs, so i noticed the gains as a whole group of mods. My advice is do it. You will only benefit from it.

Right on, thanks. I will do it then. Hey my friend has a 93 talon tsi. He told me to remove my Bypass tube from my intake and cap it off... and I have the stock BOV.... won't that harm my car....since I dont have a BOV that vents into the atomsphere

Where is the BOV going to vent to if you disconnect it from the intake and cap the intake?

I have no clue man, my friend said if you remove the tube your bov will be like a atmosphere venting BOV, But .... its just a stock BOV, can someone just reply that that wont work so my buddy knows hes dumb.

OH and I want to know if removing that restrictor on my BSC, I know it will give me 1-4 more points of boost, but WILL it RAISE my base max boost? I know I will be boosting more but will it raise the base boosting ability of my car. I don't know how else to say that. It makes sense in my head but I am not sure if it will in urs

1). Yes you can, just dont lose the restrictor you pull out.

2). On average, all the cars I have done this free mod too (with boost gauge available of course), the boost will jump from the stock 11psi to around the 12-13psi mark. When you install your MBC, you will end up pulling the BCS out completely and using the MBC to take its place. The MBC will do the same job as the BCS (which is regulate boost), except obviously with the MBC, its adjustable.

3). Not sure what you mean by "pill", but if thats your term for leave it be, its completely fine. Just pull the vacuum line off, use a small screw and screw the tip of it into the port the restrictor is in and yank it out. Plug the vacuum line back up to the port and done! Your not bypassing the BCS at all, your simply allowing a better meter of air through the BCS to the WG actuator by removing that bottle kneck.

4). Do the mod, you will be fine :thumb:

If you disconnect the tube from the intake it is atmosphere venting with all the problems that go with. That was the point:)

Yes, removing the restrictor raises the max boost a pound or so. The concept your trying to make about "base max boost" escapes me, the BCS mod increases the max boost that the car will achieve. It pretty safe to do this until your ready to go with a MBC (manual boost controller).
