I have a 1990 plymouth laser, with a 16g with a MBC with stock intercooler and o2 housing and downpipe with a 2.5" exhaust. I had the boost set on 17psi, and then installed 550cc injectors, 255 fuel pump, and a 2g mas. Everything was great for the past 3 days, it was boosting at about 17 psi and ran really strong. Then last night i went to drive it and all the lights on my air/fuel ratio were just kind of flashing, and then they went out and the red light at the leanest point just barely glowed no matter if i floored it or barely pushed the gas, but it didnt feel or sound like it was running lean. The biggest thing was all of a sudden the boost would only go to like 15psi and then drop off to about 12psi and hold there. Then today when i started driving it, it would hold at like 15 psi, and now it is only holding a 13psi. Please someone help me out.

Replace your o2 sensor. Once it goes out the ecu tries to force the engine to run richer which would bog down the motor if the conditions are right.

What do you mean by bog down the motor? Cause the boost to drop? Could you please explain a little more? Thanks for your reply.

Josh

The air fuel ratio gets too rich and the motor bogs down. I dont know how else to explain it. Its like dropping a match in a can of diesel fuel. The match will go out.

I notice when I run my car rich it has less power than it would if it were stoich.

I guess what im trying to figure out is would the engine bogging cause the boost drop?

Do you have any exhaust leaks between the exhaust ports on the head and the turbo?? That would run your boost low.
