Hi I am getting ready to purchase a:
Blitz Body Kit:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...m=160006508197&ih=006&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT

a pair of Z3 Fenders:

and 2 pairs of universal fender flares:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160007556068

I am just wondering (before I purchase these items.. today or tomarrow) if you think I will have to modify them to get them all to fit together... I am more concerned about the fender flares and the z3 fenders (will the fender flare overlap the z3 fender gill?) I will greatly appreciate any response, and give a thank you to anyone who responds in advance. :thumb:

I will guarantee that this stuff won't all just bolt on and be done. Better have a good body shop on board with this project.

There will need to be LOTS of body work done to make this fit right. Like mavisky said, hope you have a good shop. It's going to cost you more in labor than in the parts I can tell you that now.

I have the body work under control. (my dad owns a body shop)

Just wondering if anyone has had any experiance with Z3 Fenders and Fender Flares, or if anyone could tell me what the scoop is on most fender flares I would greatly appreciate it.

I have Z3 fenders on my DSM. Mine are made by Aerogear. The overall construction and fit was great (surprisingly). But I definitely miss my steel fenders!

Fiberglass can become wavey over time and eventually, it can develop stress cracks. It was fun while it lasted, but I wish I still had my OE steel fenders.

ryd0rz, I don't have any exterior mods on my DSM so I don't have any first hand knowledge but from what I've done to alot of my friends cars and heard them say: it seems to me it's rare to find a company that makes a body kit that fits your car flawlessly (I've heard vielside fits extremely well on all of their kits but for their prices it should.) I think it's pretty safe to say you'll have a little bit of bending and stretching but it's nothing bondo won't fix.

Good luck, and please do the DSM community a favor and paint these the day you get them installed!

Let us know how it turns out I'm sure someone out there will think your car looks good and will post this question again.

LOL, I will be sure not to drive this car while it is primered... I HATE seeing primed body kits all over town on our cars, it's like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

Thanks for your reply, I will now be prepaired to do bondo work.

But anyway yeah I would make sure you get fiberglass and mold all your lines over so you don't see them. Also I would repaint the whole car to make it all look "good".

Ordered my body kit, and fenders today! I cant wait till they come.

I will post pictures of me and my dad painting the car, and pictures of the final product.
I'm going to shave the door handles and mold the lines over like tool said :)

I'm thinking... metallic light blue!?

here is the link to the kit/fenders:
