I just rebuild my 420a and I notice there blue smoke coming out my tail pipe. I have new piston rings and I know it have to brake it in for piston ring to seat. I drive my 2g only 20 miles so far. I still get blue smoke, My mechanic teacher told me I have to drive about 1,000 miles to brake it in. Is that true? Because that blue smoke is scary me LOL.

It's not to much time on the build did you pour oil on top of the pistons for break in purposes? You might want to pull the valve cover and check to see if all of your valves stem seals are seated properly.

I know my piston ring is right and already check for gap. Yes before when I did rebuild, I pour oil on top of the piston for lubricant.( I know it will cause blue smoke when I start it up) but I drive about 20 miles. I thought it should burn all the oil on top of the piston by now. How to Check if valve is seats? Also u know what weird? When I leave it neutral to check, i give it gas and hold it around 3-4k rpm, it will be blue smoke coming out but after about 1-2 min, it start reducing smoke.

I'd do leak down test and see where your problem is!

But that sounds like my car and it was valve ssals
