tends to happen after the car was driven after having set for a few mins when the engine is warm......doesnt happen at all when engine is cold......but sometimes after coming out from say the store and the engine is still warm and it sat there for 5 or 10 mins, then i get smoke between gears (actually it might be at the at the begining of each gear). Hard to tell the color of the smoke cuz im always driving and its in the rear view but it smells like burnt oil which bothers mean......the engine got new piston rings about 20k miles ago when i bought the car......it was babied for bout 800-1000 miles (kept it under 3k rpms). Any ideas? doesnt seem to be burning much oil if thats the problem......when i change my oil its usually right about where it should be....not significantly low.
