blown tranny?

ok so im just driving along in 2nd go to 3rd and i feel it sort of just give in so i give it gas and it just revs up. so as im pulling over i hear a grinding noise. and im thinking that my tranny is dragging on the ground so i stop and look under and its still intact. so i start to drive home first is fine, then second is ok, so i go to third and it revs so i skip third and go to 4th, same thing. so i go to to 5th and its ok. so i pull it in my driveway and let it sit for the night. i tell my dad what happend and he asked me if thers multiple linkages for the trans and maybe one of them disconnected from the shifter or something. but i dont know i havent looked at it yet. so i was wondering if i should go with a stock rebuilt tranny or a performance one. or if this has happend to anyone else and there is a cheap easy way to solve the problem let me know.

If it was the linkage, that was disconnected you would most likely feel it in the shifter. Any upgraded trans for a dsm that wants to make more power is a good investment IMO.

I'd love to meet a dsmer whos never had a problem with their stock transmission

well hi nice to meet you...

Ive never had a problem yet... I put a stage 2 clutch in but that was by choice not that it needed it at the time.
